WEEKLY REPORT OF THE SECOND PHASE OF TEACHING PRACTISE- SIXTH WEEK

The penultimate week of teaching practise has also passed by in a good way. So many things has already been done and I am happy for all the experiences that has come my way so far. The week has been a happening one for many reasons. On Monday, I have completed the chapter, Tolstoy Farm on Monday. Tuesday was a public holiday. On Wednesday, we had PTA meeting at school from noon time onwards. Though I missed my class, it was a good experience too. While teachers were meeting the parents, we were given the discipline duty of ninth standard. We engaged them in certain activities like dumb charades and some of them also sang. Some of the parents even came up to us and spoke about the academic performance of their children.

On Wednesday, I started a new poem titles Song of the Rain by Khalil Gibran. Jijan sir came to observe the class. He sat almost throughout the class and gave feedback thereafter. An awareness class on conserving water resources was conducted by the Jal Geevan Mission the same day for the tenth class students and it was spearheaded by M Radhakrishnan Sir, retired Headmaster from Devi Vilasom Vocational Higher Secondary School, Mylom. School HM, Vijayalekshmi teacher and Rejani teacher also spoke.

On Friday, I have continued with the poem and started executing the action plan for my project work. The students were much interested and they co-operated well in the class. I tried teaching them grammatical concept in a new way and I suppose it was effective from the results I got in the worksheet.

The students were putting a lot of effort to prepare for the independence day celebrations. Preparations were going in full swing from afternoon onwards.  They will be a rally happening and students from all the classes were doing their best to make the rally a good one. The glimpses from the preparations are added below. One more week at school has got over and many important works have to be completed in the following week and looking forward to it all.
