WEEKLY REPORT OF THE SECOND PHASE OF TEACHING PRACTISE- SECOND WEEK

The second week of teaching practise was also a wholesome experience for me. What a privilege it is to be in a school, standing in front of some thirty students and teach them the well prepared lessons. The second week passed by, giving experiences to learn from and memories to cherish forever.

I got more accustomed to the students of IX A, for whom I take classes. The first chapter of unit 1, Maternity was completed along with grammar portions and I started a poem titled, Song of a Dream by Sarojini Naidu. The second week was all about gelling well with the students. I got to know them more, understood what interests them, identified that they need more reading and writing practises. I also learnt a bit more about the good use of teaching aids in class. I tries using activity cards, placards in class, with a view to make leaning more interesting. Classroom management is also not an easy task at all. Dealing a class of thirty students, of thirty different kinds is a task in itself. I am sure that gradually I am learning it all. I also got the student feedback written by them. It is also interesting when peers and trainees from other colleges share their experiences with me and vice versa. There is much to learn, unlearn. I am grateful for all the experiences that have hitherto came my way is open to welcome new ones in the third week.
